Pray that 2017 will be a year of renewal as we celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation.
Pray for the Spirit to live out lives of repentance, both during Lent and throughout the year.
Pray for an end to prejudice because of race, religion and national origin – especially anti-Semitism in the face of growing acts of vandalism against Jewish Community Centers across our country.
Pray for all refugees from strife and persecution throughout the world, allowing our country to extend its hand of welcome and, in the pursuit of border protection, not become isolationist.
Pray for the well-being of our troops serving at home and abroad, that their term of duty may be fulfilled honorably and without harm, returning them safe to loved ones and a grateful nation.
Pray for peace throughout the world, especially in Afghanistan, Iraq and across the Middle East, pray that there would be an end to sectarian warfare and ethnic genocide.
Pray for all those undergoing medical treatment or recovering from serious illness or surgery.
Pray for God’s comfort to envelope those grieving the loss of loved ones. Blessed are all who fall asleep in the Lord.
Pray for all vacant congregations of our District and Synod. May the Lord of the Church bring those with a love for His Gospel and people to those congregations in need.
Pray for the persecuted Church throughout the world, that the faithful may count as blessing the sufferings for Christ’s sake and receive the courage, strength and comfort to stand firm in the faith, especially the Coptic Church and Pakistani Christians under siege by militant Islamists.
