Bi-Monthly Missions Program
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me... to proclaim good news to the poor…to set at liberty those who are oppressed,to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. [Luke 4:18-19]
With these words of our Lord, we have inaugurated our Bi-Monthly Missions Program for 2017. Every other month, a specific charity will be chosen to receive collected free-will offerings as a measure of our commitment to help ease the burden of the poor and oppressed, and to further engage the world around us with the Gospel of Hope. .
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League has been chosen as the Bi-Monthly Mission for March-April.
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League has had along history of supporting mission both in the US and around the world. Famous for collecting their Mite Boxes, the LWML has been engaged in social justice u=issues, relief for the poor, supplying missionaries at home and abroad. In all their work, they boldly engage the world with the Gospel of Hope. In our local region, the LWML supports missionaries to the Pakistani and Guyanese communities. The LWML also supports the “adopt a Seminarian” program at both seminaries, helping to ensure that the Gospel will be proclaimed in its purity for generations to come.
